What’s Online and What’s In-Person in the Online BSN?
We make earning your BSN online possible by combining online didactic (lecture) courses with on-site clinical training and experience.
Online
Lecture classes are delivered online asynchronously—this means there’s no set class times, so you can access them whenever it’s convenient for you. You’ll also take part in peer collaboration and practicum supervision via online learning. Because these sessions involve working with others, they need to be completed live. We offer flexible scheduling to help you make these sessions at a time that works for you.
In-Person
Becoming a nurse means learning hands-on skills in simulated and real clinical settings. To ensure you graduate ready to provide care to patients, we require in-person intensives and clinicals.
Intensives
Intensives take place at a designated Herzing or partner site. There are three intensives over the course of your program, and you will spend two to four days at each one, practicing and mastering critical nursing skills under the supervision of our nursing faculty.
Clinicals
Clinicals take place at hospitals, clinics and designated partner sites. There are seven courses which require clinical experience hours.
